My Teaching Philosophy

Early childhood is a time of exploration, boundary-pushing, and endless curiosity. How teachers respond in these moments plays a huge role in shaping a child's emotional and cognitive world. Creating a space where children feel safe, respected, and free to follow their instincts requires teachers to have next-level superpowers: a calm, regulated nervous system, a healthy relationship with their emotions, and a deep understanding of early childhood development. Once those superpowers are activated, the space becomes a shame-free zone where learning and growth can truly thrive!

Play is the foundation of learning, and the possibilities are endless. Sensory play, outdoor play, messy play, process art, music, storytelling, dress-up, role-play, block building, and the list goes on! Each form of play nurtures different aspects of a child’s development, sparking creativity, critical thinking, emotional growth, and a lifelong love of learning.

As a teacher, I can humbly say I don’t have all the answers, and I embrace imperfection as part of my practice. By modeling curiosity, flexibility, and a willingness to learn, I invite children to do the same.

I treasure my relationships with parents and believe that strong collaboration is essential. When we build trust and work together, we create a community of support not just for the child, but for all of us. Instead of navigating the challenges of raising children alone, we hold space for each other to heal, grow, and thrive.

Play is learning, and children are whole, capable human beings- a truth that is nothing short of revolutionary. When we honor their autonomy through play-based experiences, they develop self-expression, confidence, and trust in their inner guidance. This foundation empowers them to grow into intuitive, generous, and thoughtful members of society who ask deep questions, think critically, and move through the world with radical love, empathy, and curiosity.
