Cyndi Perczek | she/her

Hi there, my name is Cyndi Perczek. In my 15 years as an educator, I’ve shifted from a traditional teaching mindset to embracing conscious, developmentally attuned practices that can profoundly impact not just children but entire communities of families, educators, and caregivers. This work has brought deep meaning to my life, shaping me into a more compassionate person. I’m continually amazed by the power of prioritizing and investing in the early years.

My experience includes working in playgroups, preschools, day cares, forest schools, teaching Spanish, and being a theatre-maker for young audiences.

With a background in theatre and education, the world of “research through play” is always the driving force of my curriculum. Being outdoors lends itself to a world of storytelling, textures, and sensory experiences that bring the wonder of childhood to life.

I’m a proud first generation Colombian-American, Jewish, queer educator and feel grateful for those who paved the way for me to be here.

Backyard Explorers takes place in my home in Park Slope where I live with my wife, Steph, and my beloved cat son named Boyo.
